This “assembly” component of Animated-Literacy™ helps students isolate, manipulate, and blend letter sounds and words to sing and rewrite favorite pattern songs and stories. The teacher introduces each activity by reading aloud to the class. Students can start this component after only one sound has been introduced. The first activities help students substitute the sound of each alphabet character for selected sounds in key words to form syllables and words. Example: In the song, Are You Sleeping, students replace the “D” in “ding, dong, ding” to form other bell tones (ping, pong, pring prong, ching, chong, thring, throng, etc.).
